River Cruise port of Les Andelys on AMA Waterways

Think back … Richard the Lionhearted & Robinhood (Ivanhoe) … this is where “Richard” lived … and built his fortress … one hell of a big and strong chateau (Gallard) …  high above the Seine River for protection from enemy attack … built by 6,000 workers and it took only one year … but still stands in quite good shape 800 years later !!!

Unfortunately, Richard lived here but a few years due to his overconfidence as a warrior!

For hundreds of years, the little town below changed back & forth between the French & English … today it is a little place that attracts artists that want to capture its beauty.

Back to our boat and ALL ABOARD for a 1:30 PM departure.
The rain has stopped for a bit but it remains in the high 50s … an hour or so cruising topside was possible (Brad & Mel) with a nice warm jacket and martini.  ​

10 PM, AmaLegro arrived Conflans … will remain overnight.
